Spanish and Trekking

Spanish and Trekking

Follow in the steps of the conquistadors with this package that allows you to learn Spanish while also getting out and seeing what Peru is famous for - its mountains and wonderful Inca Ruins. And the best way to appreciate this fabulous scenery is by hiking through it.

This program enables you to enjoy one week soaking up Cusco’s atmosphere while also learning Spanish in a group class according to your level. Then you will head off into the fabulous Andes mountains!.

The Salkantay Trek, which is also known as ‘the alternative Inca Trail’, is one of the most popular hikes in Cusco. Its popularity has grown especially now that the traditional Inca Trail books rather quickly. This hike is a magnificent wilderness alternative for those who wish to escape the more congested trekking routes. This route crosses the Andes Mountains and then descends down to the high jungle. This amazing journey will take you through an amazing progression of ecological zones. Experience the views of sparsely vegetated alpine meadows revealing two spectacular glaciated peaks, and then head down through a subtropical forest. The visit to Machu Picchu on Day Five is more exhilarating having trekked across rugged terrain to arrive at this famous citadel of the Incas.

The student will attend our Spanish group course in Cusco during the first week and will hike the trek during the second week. Additional weeks of studying Spanish can also be booked upon request. Accommodation during the week in Cusco is not included; however the package does include accommodation, meals, camping equipment, transportation and a professional guide during the trek. No fixed departure days, no required minimum. Please be advised that there are no Spanish classes organized while on the trek and only a guide will be present to accompany the students.
