Peru is such a beautiful country that it is almost a pity to spend too much time in the classroom! For those who agree, the AMAUTA Spanish and Excursion in Peru Program is best for you. In combination with a Spanish course, you will have the opportunity to participate in as many tours and excursions as possible, which allows you the chance to see all the country has to offer.

The program includes 44 hours of Spanish instruction (a combination of group and individual classes) and several excursions in and around Cusco. The total program is three weeks, although extra weeks and additional excursions can be booked upon request.

During your three weeks with the Spanish and Excursion Program, you will learn more about the colonial history of Cusco on the City Tour, which includes a visit to the incredible ruins of Sacsaywaman. This package also includes the Sacred Valley Tour, where you will visit the traditional villages of Pisac, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero, which all have marvelous Inca ruins, colorful markets and beautiful scenery. We will raft on the Urubamba River and visit the fabled and magnificent Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu. A Jungle Tour in the Peruvian rainforest is on the agenda, as well! We will visit Puno and Lake Titcaca, where legends state that the first Inca emerged. While there, you will visit the Floating Islands of Uros as well as the Islands of Amantaní and Taquile. Here, the people still have a distinct and unique lifestyle.

Accommodation during this program can be arranged at the school residence, with a family or in a hotel. Please note that accommodation is an additional cost, except during some of the excursions, for example, the Jungle tour and Puno. AMAUTA’s own travel agency, DOS MANOS PERU, operates all excursions.
