Medical Spanish

AMAUTA’s Medical Spanish Program is specially designed for doctors, nurses, social workers and other health professionals. It focuses on medical terminology and information in order to develop your skills for communicating with Spanish-speaking clients.

Special attention is given to cultural differences between the western world and Latin America, including information on how subjects such as health, illness and family issues are addressed in the Latin community.

Specialization classes will focus on medical vocabulary, conversation skills, role-playing and videos that you will find necessary working in the medical field. Part of the classes will focus on traditional Andean medicine.

You will also have the opportunity to experience real life situations during the field trips to hospitals, smaller-scale, free medical posts, dentists and rehabilitation centers for mentally and physically disabled children.
