The AMAUTA Volunteer Program provides a unique opportunity to live and work abroad while learning the Spanish language. There are many different volunteer opportunities at different projects once you complete your Spanish lessons. You may choose both the field and preferred location of your volunteer placement. Possible fields of interest include social work, education, tourism, cultural work and catering. Placement sites include a clinic, hospital, after school project, project for street children, home for elderly people or a primary school.
We also offer complementary cultural courses to all our students and these are a great way to improve your Spanish. All activities enable you to learn in a dynamic and fun environment while you gain an understanding of Latin American and Peruvian or Argentinian culture.
The Volunteer Standard Program is comprised of both Spanish classes and volunteering. There is a minimum 8 week commitment and includes 4 weeks of Spanish classes followed by 4 weeks of volunteering. Volunteer activities and locations vary, but the volunteer will have an opportunity to select a placement of his or her choice.
The Volunteer Plus Program is designed for volunteers with specific skills and requires a minimum commitment of 16 weeks. Similar to the Volunteer Standard Program, the Volunteer Plus Program combines Spanish courses with volunteering. The first 4 weeks will consist of group Spanish classes followed by 12 weeks of volunteering in a placement of your choice. The longer commitment of the Volunteer Plus Program allows for more substantial support to be offered to the organizations and people for which you work.
