The teachers are knowledgeable about grammar and encourage conversations. In each class there are various opportunities to practice speaking, listening, reading and writing. The teachers also engage with the city and take students on short field trips in Cusco to explore the culture and practice speaking with native Spanish speakers.

Amauta has a great set of teachers, they are all very supportive. The museums you can visit with your class are always beneficial and the classes are small enough to guarantee a great learning experience. The evening activities (e.g. salsa) are very fun and informative. It also is great if you are staying with a host family, they will help you with any problem that occurs.

Besides I definitely recommend looking at all the activities Dos Manos has to offer

There are lots of opportunities to travel and do activities through the school. They work to find the best class for you, and everyone is really nice and helpful.

I would recommend Amauta, because they have students from all over the world attending. It´s an amazing experience to meet people from all over learning Spanish. The staff has been really understanding and helpful. The school really tries to make learning accommodating to the student. I have enjoyed my time here.

We want to thank AMAUTA and its travel agency Dos Manos for a wonderful experience! We always felt well taken care of and very secure. We learned a lot of Spanish in the group instruction classes in a very quick time, and we really enjoyed the introductory student dinner together and time spent with our host family. And thank you so much for accommodating us with our teacher and tours together. She kindly went with us on the Cusco city tour and Sacred Valley tour and was teaching us and answering our questions along the way. She has immense patience and is such a pleasant person to be with it. We really miss her and AMAUTA!

I came to Peru two weeks ago not knowing any Spanish. After a week and a half of courses I can converse in the present tense with my host family and my teachers. The group classes are a good combination of instruction and conversation and I feel that the amount of every day “practical Spanish” that I have learned so far is greater than the amount of practical usages that I would have learned in the U.S.. I look forward to learning “el pasado” next week.

Amauta has been a wonderful experience for me. We change teachers every week, I have had a range of topics and every day is a new learning experience. The school is beautiful. You shouldn´t ask for a better view while you´re studying. My host family has been a privilege to live with, always gracious and very patient. Amauta has so many opportunities for cultural experiences and travel – the best part is that a lot of it is free. Even though Cusco can feel touristy at times, it´s still a beautiful city with a rich (and authentic) cultural heritage. I have also enjoyed the opportunity to participate in the thriving international community. The school has been very accommodating and helpful – I could ask for nothing more in a study abroad program.

I´m having a wonderful time at AMAUTA Spanish School. All the students that I met here are friendly and interesting. The teachers are very helpful and support my progress in learning Spanish. The homestay was an authentic experience, I appreciated it very much. Living in the school is fun as well. Cusco is a nice place to travel to and enjoy your holiday.
