Hola!  Welcome to the AMAUTA Spanish Schools blog!

At our Spanish Schools in Cusco and Buenos Aires, we provide the best Spanish courses and cultural immersion experiences for our students.  We encourage our students to step outside of the Spanish classroom, to enjoy the local culture, make Spanish-speaking friends, and travel in Peru and Argentina.  During or after finishing your Spanish course, we greatly encourage participation in our volunteer program in Cusco or Buenos Aires, where you will really get the chance to practice and improve your  Spanish language skills and give back to local community.

Here at our AMAUTA blog, we aim to keep you posted about what is happening out our Spanish schools, as well as what´s going on in and around the cities of Cusco and Buenos Aires.  We´ll also post fun articles about Peruvian and Argentinian culture, cuisine,  local fiestas, what to see in Cusco, & where to go in Buenos Aires, etc. 

We´ll include advice about which weekend excursions to sign up for and which free cultural activities are available. And after reading our section of student reports, you´ll know exactly why you want to study Spanish at AMAUTA in Cusco and Buenos Aires.

Éen van de makkelijkste manieren om een nieuwe taal te leren, is in het land waar deze taal gesproken wordt. Daar heb je veel mogelijkheden om je taal skills te testen en elke dag Spaans te spreken. Ook al is Spanje vaak een logische keuze, de beste plaats om Spaans te leren is Zuid-Amerika.

Spaans leren maakt reizen in het buitenland een stuk makkelijker

Als je nog geen reis door Zuid-Amerika hebt gemaakt, is het moeilijk voor te stellen hoe lastig het is als anderstalige of “enkel Engels” sprekende toerist in deze volledig Spaanstalige wereld.

Er is weinig frustrerender dan zitten te hannesen met de lokale taal terwijl je aan het reizen bent in Peru of Argentinie.

Nu kom je meestal een heel eind met handgebaren en een Spaans woordje hier en daar, maar dit is niet echt de beste manier om te communiceren als je het beste uit jouw verblijf wilt halen.

Als je naar Peru gaat, is het zeker handig om wat Spaans te weten. Je krijgt er beter contact door met de lokale bevolking, en het helpt je om de cultuur beter te begrijpen. En als je echt Spaans wil leren spreken, is er trouwens geen betere manier om Spaanse lessen in Peru te nemen. Spaans leren in Peru is niet duur en een superleuke ervaring!

Overigens hoef je natuurlijk niet te bespreken hoe je de wereld economie er voor staat met Peruanen, maar het is wel handig om ten minste de basis te weten. Denk aan leuke zinnetjes om te groeten, om eten te bestellen, of om van A naar B te gaan met de bus. Daarom heb ik voor jou de volgende lijst gemaakt!

1. The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, Cusco

There are several Inca trekking routes in Peru that go to Machu Picchu, however, the classic Inca Trail is a four-day 43km hike that winds up into the mountains beyond the Sacred Valley, summiting three high-altitude passes before terminating at the Inca ruins of Machu Picchu for sunrise on the final day.
