Beautiful Video Testimonial from Spanish student in Cusco
Watch this video testimonial to learn about the experience of Caroline, a past Spanish student and volunteer at AMAUTA Spanish School here in Cusco, Peru. Caroline spent three months in Peru and she loved it. On the video, you have the opportunity to meet her Peruvian host family, la senora Nancy, and see what living in Peru is truly like. You’ll be surprised by how sweet and loving the Peruvians are and you’ll see for yourself why Peru is considered to have some of the world´s best food. Senora Nancy proudly shows what Peruvian meal she’s preparing for Caroline today: “Tamales, comida tipica de Peru”. “One of the benefits of living with a host family in Cusco”, says Caroline, “is that you learn Spanish a bit faster. And of course you experience the cultural life.”
Caroline also comments about the cultural activities in Cusco. It is hard to be bored while you study Spanish in Cusco because AMAUTA offers a variety of cultural activities at the school, such as: workshop Peruvian cooking or dancing – both salsa and typical Peruvian. Our workshop Peruvian textile, or weaving, is a unique event because it’s not only one single teacher AMAUTA hires for this course. On the contrary, there are at least five or six Peruvian women from a local community nearby, that leave their village for a day and take the bus to Cusco to meet with the AMAUTA students and reveal the secrets of the ancient weaving techniques. Along with that, AMAUTA and our travel partner Dos Manos Peru Travel offer excursions and fun trips all around Peru.
AMAUTA Spanish School is centrally located, just one block from Cusco´s main square, the Plaza de Armas. There are plenty of clubs, bars, and great restaurants to go to and plenty of historical museums and gorgeous churches to see in Cusco. AMAUTA is equipped with a friendly team of Peruvian teachers who are all native Spanish speakers and work hard to help you learn the Spanish language. Often they take the students out of the classroom for active learning in town, for instance they visit the central market in Cusco where the students talk with the people that work and sell their products.
At AMAUTA you have the opportunity to learn Spanish in Peru, to volunteer, go on excursions, participate in cultural activities, and experience real life in Cusco. It will be a unique adventure that you will always remember.
