The best airlines to Buenos Aires
If you are European, and you would like to go to Argentina to begin a cultural adventure and study Spanish in Buenos Aires, here is some interesting information for you about choosing the best airline to Buenos Aires.
How to get to Buenos Aires?
When you are living in the UK, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Italy or Spain you are lucky, because the airlines listed below fly directly from all the capitals directly to Buenos Aires! Don’t worry if you live in another country, because all these airlines also offer connecting flights to the seven cities.
Often, departing from the South of Europe is cheaper than taking a direct flight and the winner is the Spanish airline Air Europa offering the cheapest tickets. With a 3-star rating Air Europa is no first class airline, but most of the clients seem to be happy
Arriving in Buenos Aires
Buenos Aires has two main airports but all intercontinental flights will arrive at Aeropuerto de Ezeiza – Ministro Pistarini, which is the largest one. Domestic and regional air traffic arrives at Aeroparque Jorge Newberry, in the centre of the city- close to Palermo.
The arrival in Ezeiza is not complicated. When disembarked, you just have to follow the signs to the baggage hall; you don’t have to worry about getting lost. After you’ve picked up your suitcases, you have to queue for the luggage control (you only have to put you luggage in a scanner, but queuing can take a while). From here you arrive directly in the arrival hall where a lot of people are waiting for guests with different signs and yelling different names. If you have booked an airport transfer, this is where you need to wait and check the signs carefully. If you don’t see your contact person, just wait a bit longer and / or call the emergency phone number.
From Ezeiza to the city centre of Buenos Aires
If you have not booked a pick-up-service, you can go to the city centre of Buenos Aires by bus, by train (to Estación Constitución where you can take the metro (Subte)) or by taxi. A taxi ride to the city centre cost more or less 350 pesos. We recommend to take a cab from “Ezeiza Taxis” which has an office in the middle of the arrival hall. Another well known taxi company is Tienda Leon.
Good luck and enjoy your flight to Buenos Aires!
