All about Cusco nightlife
Shortly after arrival in Peru, our students taking Spanish courses in Cusco discover that Cusco is a city full of celebrations and cultural events. The night life in Cusco is no different. With a copious amount of options, you may feel overwhelmed and ambiguous about their decision. That’s why we have prepared this brief guide to nightlife in Cusco.
Indigo: to start the night
To start the the night, Indigo is highly recommended. This relaxing environment is the perfect place to decompress from a day of exploring before an exciting night out. Coffee, juice and milkshakes are some of the beverages you can enjoy, in addition to alcoholic beverages. Indigo also specialize in Thai and Peruvian food. This popular hangout has several games, free WIFI, and hookah.
Located at Tecsecona 415 Cusco, this place is visited by many AMAUTA Spanish School students regularly. Tip! Take advantage of the student discount, exclusively for AMAUTA students!
Mythology: to the Dance Floor:
After spending a few hours at these prominent bars, it is now time to get on the dance floor. Consider going to Mythology first. Mythology is open Monday through Sunday 9pm-5am. Unlike other clubs, Mythology has no entrance fee and often hand out free drink tickets. Open since 1999, Mythology has consistently been a popular choice for tourists in Cusco. They also have salsa dance lessons: every night from 9-11pm
Mama Africa: leave borders and flags behind:
Mama Africa is conveniently located in the Plaza de Armas downtown Cusco. Mama Africa offers a wide range of music such as: Funk, Reggae, Electronic,Hip Hop, Latin Pop, Salsa and Samba. Happy hours are from 8:30-11pm. In addition, they sometimes have live fire dancing. This club is perfect for everyone as they stress to “leave borders and flags behind, and remember that we are really all citizens of one world.”
Republic of Pisco: Alluring atmosphere
On Plateros street hides an elegant, vivid club. The Republic of Pisco is a place of posh. Diverse groups of people come together to enjoy dancing, drinks, and an alluring atmosphere. The first floor is dedicated to dining and enjoying drinks. The second floor has several rooms for dancing. The Republic of Pisco is open Monday through Sunday 5pm to 2am.
The Temple: face painting and acrobats
Finally, The Temple, located at Tecsecocha 282—just down the road from Indigo. Numerous activities attract a wide variety of people each night. Face painting and acrobats are a few of the reasons this club attracts many, diverse groups of people each night. With two stories, there are plenty of places to dance as well as space to take a break from dancing. Every Thursday is Ladies Night.
