Michael’s student review of AMAUTA Spanish School Peru
“I studied Spanish at the AMAUTA Spanish school in Cuzco for a total of seven weeks and it was one of the best experiences of my life.
Living with an amazing Peruvian family
First of all, I really liked that the school organized my stay with a local Peruvian family so this way I learned a lot about the culture and the everyday life of the Peruvian people. In addition, living with the family enabled me to apply the things I studied at the school directly in „the field“. This is, in my opinion, one of the most important things of all when it comes to improving your language skills.
Small Classes
Further, I really liked the small classes that are divided into different levels. That way the Spanish teachers can respond very precisely to the needs of every single student. One thing I liked in particular was that we left our classroom once a week to visit a cultural site in the city as for example a museum, the university or once even a cemetery. The teachers know a lot about the different places and can give you a much better insight as if you would enter those places alone.
Sociable atmosphere
Finally, I loved the sociable atmosphere of AMAUTA. Before and after the classes as well as during the breaks all students come together in common room or courtyard, to have a tea and chat. Therefore, it is very easy to make new friends and plan all kind of adventures in and around Cuzco. The teachers are very outgoing and easy to talk to. So you also get to know them as a person and not only as your professor. They always have tons of hints where to go for dinner, salsa or some very good Pisco Sour without ending up in a place packed with tourists.
En breve: learning Spanish at AMAUTA was “una experiencia muy estupenda”. Gracias AMAUTA!
